TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Focus Planet TR 2.0 is an entry-level road bike. Hydraulic disc brakes are responsible for stopping the bike. The design is based on a frame made of aluminum. The balance of rolling and maneuverability is provided by the wheels optimally. Important specs: rear derailleur - SRAM G8 8-speed disc, front derailleur - solid mid-range derailleur, weight - . We recommend buying a Focus Planet TR 2.0  bike for amateur trips over medium and short distances on paved roads.

aluminum frame

The Focus Planet TR 2.0  bike is based on an aluminum frame. Aluminum (6061) is the most common material used in the manufacture of medium and high-end bicycles. Currently, two technologies are widely used in the production of aluminum frames: butting and hydroforming.

Butting

In places with the greatest load, the aluminum pipe has thicker walls, and in places where the load is usually light, the thickness of the aluminum is less. Thus, it is possible to reduce the weight of the structure, to make the frame more durable in places of load.

hydroforming

With the help of high pressure liquid, the desired shape is obtained from the aluminum pipe, which adds strength to the structure in places with the greatest load. Usually, in such a section, an additional layer of aluminum of the desired shape is simply welded on. Hydroforming, on the other hand, makes it possible to achieve such strength without the use of welding technologies, which makes the structure more reliable, reduces its weight and improves the aesthetic component.

rigid fork

Focus Planet TR 2.0  is equipped with a rigid fork. Non-cushioned forks are used on road, road and city bikes. These bikes are not meant to be ridden on rough terrain or poorly paved roads. The material used is aluminum and carbon fiber, not for low price bikes - steel. The undoubted leader is carbon fiber (carbon). Thanks to its stiffness and anti-vibration qualities, it makes the ride more comfortable and soft. The main advantage of rigid forks is the greater "efficiency" of the cyclist. The efforts of the body, arms and legs are not "eaten" by the shock absorber, allowing you to spend less effort and accelerate faster. They also reduce the weight of the structure, and, importantly, the cost of the bike as a whole. Of the minuses, of course - the ability to drive only on good quality roads.

Double rims

The wheel design of the Focus Planet TR 2.0  is based on double rims. The double rim is used in the production of bikes from budget to sports and premium class. Thanks to the additional walls, it becomes almost impossible to fill an eight or an egg on a wheel while driving. This advantage comes at the cost of increased weight and the final cost of the bike. On the other hand, dual mountain bike rims are almost irreplaceable. Depending on the manufacturer and class, they can seriously differ in weight and strength characteristics.

Disc hydraulic brakes

Focus Planet TR 2.0  is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes. Such brake systems are installed on bicycles of both medium and semi-professional and professional classes. They have earned their recognition thanks to the instant response to pressing the brake lever, huge braking force and high reliability in extreme conditions. Unlike mechanical disc brakes, the energy applied is transmitted by a fluid rather than a cable. The brake lever becomes more sensitive and responsive, and instantly transfers force to the pads. Of the minuses of such systems, it is worth highlighting the high cost, dependence on ambient temperature and the complexity of the repair.
